Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Narrative service (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of Narrative, including visitors to public portfolio pages.

2. Description of Service

Narrative is a portfolio builder that allows users to create and publish a personal portfolio website at a custom subdomain. The Service includes a dashboard for managing your portfolio content, portfolio display at your chosen subdomain, and related features described on our website.

Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service you must create an account with a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload or create through the Service (“User Content”), including text, images, and files in your portfolio. By uploading User Content, you grant Narrative a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, and transmit that content solely as needed to provide the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have all rights necessary to post it and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes another party’s intellectual property rights
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Distribute malware, spam, or any harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying infrastructure
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by these Terms

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Payments and Billing

Narrative offers a free trial period followed by paid subscription plans. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

If your payment fails or your subscription lapses, your portfolio may be taken offline until your subscription is renewed. We will notify you before taking any action.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent — all your data and portfolio content will be removed from our systems.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. We will give you reasonable notice unless immediate termination is required to protect the Service or other users.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Narrative, its operators, and their respective contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data or business interruption, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.
